  • « Ilse Newell Fund for the Performing Arts Presents Chris Godber and Band
  • Wednesday Farmers Market »

The Carrabelle Branch of the Franklin County Public Libraries will be hosting an exciting writers’ series entitled, “Pen to Paper” from January through May 2023. Kicking off this exciting series, on Monday, January 9 at 2 pm, will be a five author panel featuring Dawn Radford, Tiffany Howell, D.J. Mays, Sid McOmie and Anthony Lee Watkins. The Carrabelle Branch Library is located at 311 St. James Avenue, Carrabelle, FL.

The authors and poets will discuss what they have written and what they are working on now, followed by a question and answer session. This friendly and informal event will be a wonderful chance to meet and greet these local authors personally and is open to anyone interested in learning more about these writers or writing in general or those who just love reading. Refreshments will be served.

Dawn Radford is a writer of poetry, short stories, and also the author of “Oyster Flats”, a fictional tale set in a remote fishing village on the Florida Panhandle. Sid McOmie is an author of several cookbooks including “Nibbles and Bites” and has just written a suspense thriller set in the local area. Tiffany Howell writes Young Adult Fiction and is the author of “The Finder’s Tales: Marco”. Anthony Lee Watkins is a writer of poetry including “Union Line Cemetery” and “Written in Darkness”, a published collection of poems. Local author D.J. Mays mainly writes Science Fiction and is the author of “The Rebel” and trilogy “Tales of the Rebel League”.  Between them this panel represents a wide variety of genres including poetry, cookbooks, local fiction, science fiction, Young Adult Fiction, short stories and nonfiction.

There is no charge for this program and the public is welcome. This series is sponsored by the Friends of the Franklin County Public Libraries. For more information on this event, please contact the Carrabelle Branch Library at (850) 697-2366.
