Strap in and please keep your hands and arms inside the vehicle during the ride to avoid injury…. it’s going to be a wild week of live music and event driven goodness as only Bowery Station and Apalachicola can deliver!

Here’s what we got headin’ your way…..

Wednesday, Jan 10 – BS Open Mic rolls from 6-8ish. This weekly event has been a mainstay in local entertainment for years, and has fostered the development of numerous performers as they gain their confidence and stage presence. All levels of talent are welcomed and appreciated. As always, tips for performers from BS Open Mic go to charity, during the month of January we will be supporting the SGI Cat Allies, an organization run by Cathy Buell that works diligently to spay and neuter feral cats in Apalachicola and on St. George Island.

Thursday, Jan 11 – Get ready for a day of the oldtime classics! Frank Lindamood is back at Bowery Station for a show from 3-5pm. Few can play the oldies like Frank, and few have the story behind the song as he does. Then, who better to follow Frank for the old time feel, but Chris and Haden of the Flathead Stringband! These guys take the stage with their banjo, mandolin, guitar and well sung bluegrass and oldies from 6-8:30pm. Toes tappin’ and hands a clappin’ are the signature of the day! Suspenders available at the door!

Friday, Jan 12 – Natalie Gaza makes her debut on the BS stage from 3-5:30pm. If you haven’t heard of this rising talent, you will! Singer/Songwriter Natalie Gaza infuses powerful introspective lyrics with a unique folk/rock americana musical energy. Her multi-layered song structure and skilled guitar work deliver a memorable listener experience. Coming from stages such as the House of Blues in Chicago, Natalie is a show you do not want to miss. Then, for a real special treat of a Friday evening, Bowery Station is pleased to present a Tribute to John Prine with special hosts, Brian Bowen, Cat Braaten, and Bo Spring. An evening honoring one of the most significant songwriters of our time, performed by three of the most gifted songwriters/performers that grace our Forgotten Coast will truly be remarkable. The Tribute runs from 7-10pm, we expect an overflow crowd so plan accordingly. We are honored to have these three talents join forces at one time on our BS stage.

Saturday, Jan 13 – First, it’s Oyster Cook-Off in Apalachicola, so come out and enjoy a plethora of events all day long across town! Start off with a 5K Road race starting at 8pm in front of the Grady Market to benefit the Apalachicola Volunteer Fire Dept. All entrants can bring their bib back to Bowery Station for a free OCBC beer! We are very excited to have Sarah Moranville on stage from 2-5pm, providing us with her sultry voice and dynamic guitar during the afternoon, then the evening lights up with the Jerry Thigpen Trio from 6:30-9:30pm. Get ready to shoot the lights out and dance the night away to one of the best blues based rock and roll bands on the Gulf Coast! It’s going to be a big day in town… but a hugenormass one at Bowery Station.

Sunday, Jan 14 – Get your country dancing shoes on, because Bowery Station is pleased to welcome Bo and Pat Phillips out for an afternoon of Country Western Dance instruction. These two professional instructors have a history of instructing Country Western Dancing and making it a fun enjoyable experience. The fun runs from 2:30-4pm, get your boots tuned up! Then Melissa Bowman hits the stage from 4:30-8pm for another one of her dynamic performances. Melissa, one of the famed Krickets is ready to join us for a Sunday evening, and one of her signature performances.

We apologize in advance for your expected exhaustion, but hey, it’s what we do at Bowery Station… bake the best live music cake we can then top it all off with the thickest coat of frivolity icing we can… damn the party poopers… the fun goes on and on…. let us all eat cake!!
