A J Tata, Author of Seven National Best-Selling Novels, is the
Featured Speaker at Premiere Apalachicola Author Series
The premiere event of the new Susan Buzzett Clementson Author Series, a program of PALS – Patrons of Apalachicola Library Society, will be held on May 19 from 4-6 pm. in Apalachicola. A. J. Tata, Brigadier General U.S. Army (Ret), is the featured author at the premiere event. Tata is the author of the seven national best-selling Captain Jake Mahegan and Threat book series. He recently teamed up with best-selling author Nicholas Irving for their book REAPER: Ghost Target – A Sniper Novel, the third release in the REAPER series. This newest book hits the stands on May 8, 2018. Attendees at the May 19 Author Series in Apalachicola will get to meet General Tata, listen to a presentation from the General, get a copy of the new book REAPER: Ghost Target, and enjoy beer and brats refreshments. The May 19th event launches the Susan Buzzett Clementson Author Series, named in honor of Ms. Clementson who passed away on December 30, 2017. She was a lifelong advocate of libraries, literature, and the importance of library programs, including a career as librarian at Pine Hills Elementary School in Orlando and head of the Rosman Middle and High School Library in Brevard, North Carolina. She connected with the Apalachicola Municipal Library when she returned to the area to be with family, and became a leader in advancing new programs to provide education and literacy. She advocated for a new library location where all children of Franklin County would have access to library services. Her vision and support led to the development of the new Apalachicola Margaret Key Library facility that opened in February of 2018. The Susan Buzzett Clementson Author Series program is produced in conjunction with PALS – Patrons of the Apalachicola Library Society, to bring best-selling national and regional authors to Apalachicola, with events running from October through May. This first event is sponsored, in part, by Oyster City Brewing Co., Downtown Books and Purl, and Magic Time Literary Agency. It is appropriate that the May 19th program features an author of military accomplishments, in addition to being a best selling author, as that is Armed Services Day, celebrating our men and women in the branches of military service to our country. Tickets for the Author Series featuring General Tata are $45 per person, $70 per couple, which includes a copy of the new REAPER book, the presentation, and refreshments. Tickets are available at the Apalachicola Margaret Key Library, 80 12th Street, Apalachicola, or online at www.apalachicolalibrary.com. The event will be at the History, Culture, Arts building, 86 Water Street, Apalachicola.
