Just named one of the Top 12 Independence Events in Florida by the digital travel magazine Trips to Discover, Apalachicola’s “Independence Eve” event is a celebration you don’t want to miss!
Each year on July 3rd, the community comes together at Riverfront Park in downtown Apalachicola for a fantastic celebration that culminates in a stunning fireworks display over the Apalachicola River.
Enjoy live music with Southern Flood and the Bo Spring Band, a parade, and a free ice cream social. Food trucks will be serving up delicious American favorites, international fare, and cool treats. Free children’s art activities will be held across the street at the Center for History, Culture, and Art from 5 – 8 p.m.
Rep. Halsey Beshears will be giving our Veterans Tribute this year. After the singing of the National Anthem, fireworks are launched from a barge in the river, creating a spectacular display of lights.
Admission is free, and picnic blankets and lawn chairs are welcome. Or, for an upscale experience, reserve a table in the VIP section on the docks. You’ll enjoy complimentary beverages from a private bar and a fantastic view of the best fireworks on the Forgotten Coast!
