Fall Equinox and Healing Soundscapes at Crooked River Lighthouse

September 22, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

  • « Wednesday Farmers Market
  • Apalachicola Farmers Market »

In celebration of the 2022 Fall Equinox the Crooked River Lighthouse in Carrabelle is hosting a Sound Bath from 6:30 pm-7:30 pm on Thursday, September 22, on the porch of the Keeper’s House. A sound bath explores the powerful vibrations of harmonic tones as a source of healing.  This uniquely beautiful, meditative session will be presented by The Gong Experience gongliers (gong players) Sahadev and Kasimira and are joined by shamonic sound healer, Donia Smith and her crystal bowls. There is no cost for this event but gratuities are warmly welcomed. Feel free to bring a chair and sit, watch, listen, feel and experience this meditative event.

If you have never heard a gong actually played to its full potential, you will be awe struck!  This ancient instrument, when properly played, resonates pure sound that can reach deep emotional places in a powerful and primal way.  When combined with bowls, drums and other shamanic tools the vehicle to your personal inner space is made more accessible.

Sahadev (Steve Brazier) and Kasimira Vogel are musicians and yogis who have devotedly studied gong techniques.   They have made it their personal mission to share this special gift of healing with as many people as they can. Kasimira also infuses Reiki into the gongs for added healing.

Donia B. Smith is a Spiritual Artist, Licensed Massage Therapist, Sound Bath Practitioner and Reiki Practitioner. Her roots are firmly planted in North Florida being 8th generation and she now resides in Apalachicola with her tribe.

Crooked River Lighthouse is located in Carrabelle, just west of the Carrabelle Public Beach Park at 1975 Hwy 98 W, Carrabelle, FL. For more information, contact the museum and gift shop at 850-697-2732. Funded in part by the Franklin County Tourist Development Council.
