Crooked River Lighthouse Full Moon Climb: Low Country Boil & Jazz Under the Full Moon

March 20, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

  • « John F. Lee’s Believe It or Not Apalachicola
  • Wednesday Farmers Market »
Due to expected thunderstorms Friday evening, the Carrabelle Lighthouse Association has made the decision to reschedule their full moon event, originally scheduled for Friday, March 18th from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m, to Sunday, March 20th from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. The Rio Jazz Trio will still be performing live music, on the new night, from 8:00 to 10:00 pm and a low country boil will still be served from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
Those who have already pre-paid, the admission fee will automatically transfer to the new night. The hope is that guests will join the Crooked River Lighthouse on Sunday from 6:00 to 10:00 pm for a wonderful (and drier) event. Those who have already purchased admission and cannot attend on Sunday are welcome to either contribute the cost (or a portion) as a donation or request a refund. (The Carrabelle Lighthouse Association is a 501c3 non-profit.) Those guests who would like a refund are welcome to contact the Crooked River Lighthouse gift shop at CarrabelleLighthouse@gmail.com or (850) 697-2732 for information.
The Carrabelle Lighthouse Association apologizes for any inconvenience but the safety of its visitors, volunteers and staff must take priority.

Guests can also visit the Museum and browse inside the Lighthouse Gift Shop for unique nautical gifts and souvenirs. Visitors can also relax next to the warm bonfire at the large fire pit (weather permitting). Bring a chair and enjoy the evening.

For this month’s special event, admission must be purchased in advance. Admission cost is $15 for adults and $8 for children (6-16) and includes the low country boil (served from 6:00-8:00 pm), live music (from 8:00-10:00 pm), glowing bonfire at the fire pit, and museum access. Admission can be paid online at https://www.crookedriverlighthouse.com/full-moon-climb/ or at the Crooked River Lighthouse Gift Shop.

In addition, some guests may also choose to enjoy evening tower climbs during this event. The climb to the top of the tallest Forgotten Coast lighthouse rewards climbers with breathtaking views of the bay. Climbers must be 44” tall. Due to the popularity of the Full Moon events, a climb timeslot reservation is required in advance and can be made by calling 850-697-2732. Climbers will pay the climbing fee (adult $5, child $3) in the gift shop during the event.

A limited number of climbers (max of 7) are allowed at one time. There will be a time limit for viewing from the top. Guests who would like a more leisurely climbing experience are welcome to enjoy one of the daytime climbs available every Wednesday through Sunday. Masks are welcome but not required.

Crooked River Lighthouse is located in Carrabelle, just west of the Carrabelle Public Beach Park at 1975 Hwy 98 W, Carrabelle. For more information, contact the Museum and Gift Shop at 850-697-2732, carrabellelighthouse@gmail.comor https://www.crookedriverlighthouse.com/. Funded in part by the Franklin County Tourist Development Council.
