Bowery Station Music Schedule (Sept 12 – 16)

September 12, 2018 @ 8:00 am - September 16, 2018 @ 5:00 pm

  • « Big Show at Jenny’s!
  • Franklin County Coastal Cleanup »

Wednesday, Sept 12 – Open Mic is on from 6-8ish, so tune up the guitar, banjo, spoons or tap shoes and find your way out to the areas best display of local, and developing talent. All levels of talent are always welcomed and appreciated so long as you bring a smile to the stage. As you may recall, tips for performers for Open Mic always go to a great cause, this month once again we will be splitting them between our friends Janine Gedmin and Anita Grove on their quest to raise sponsorship for Rivertrek, a 104 mile kayak trip down the Apalachicola in October that benefits the Apalachicola Riverkeeper! This is in correlation with a great fundraiser we have planned for this Sunday, Sept 16 featuring Bingo, fantastic prizes and great area musicians.

Thursday, Sept 13 – Ahhhhh! Thursday the 13th!! What does that mean? It means we continue to make Thursdays the New Fridays… and it’s the 13th… and … and… Jeb Tabb returns for a show from 6-9pm. Jeb played back in April and brought his Georgia roots to his performance with solid vocals of Americana with a down home feel. So come on out and join him for a Thursday evening that makes Thursdays the New Fridays in Apalachicola.

Friday, Sept 14 – It’s a send off to Hobson! That’s right, Southern Flood is playing from 7-10pm, and it is a send off for founding member Hobson Fulmer as he moves on to new objectives! The Flood will remain rocking your world, with a soon to be introduced singer, but this night will be a one for the record books as our community sends Hobson off in style. Rumors of trampolines can neither be confirmed or denied at this time, so expect the unexpected as Hobson, Steve, Charles and Ellis always give it their all for what will surely be a night to shake your booty.. and your groove thing… well a night to shake anything you can.

Saturday, Sept 15 – It’s great to have the salt encrusted Brian Bowen back on the stage for an afternoon show from 3-5:30pm. Bowen, a frequent flyer on WOYS, Oyster Radio, brings some well written originals along with your favorite classics from John Prine to Guy Clark and even maybe a little Buffet to his shows, and is a legend on the Forgotten Coast for a reason… then going into the evening we have the debut in Apalach of Brad Foutch from 6:30-9:30pm. Brad is an extraordinary performer that can light up a stage with his amazingly energetic guitar and heartfelt vocals. We had the pleasure to catch one of his shows at Fathoms a few months ago, and knew he would be a great asset to the Bowery Station stage. This will be a do not miss performance, as Bard will surely light up a Saturday night in Apalach. Come give him a great welcome to Oystertown.

Sunday, Sept 16 – What do you get when you mix live music, beer, wine, and BINGO?!!? That’s right kids, we said BINGO! You get yourself a fun afternoon fundraiser for the Apalachicola Riverkeeper in the form of supporting two local ladies, Janine Gedmin and Anita Grove, who will be participating in the 104 mile Rivertrek in October and are developing sponsorship for the event! Local music legends that will be performing include Brian Bowen, Jenny Odom, Roy Ogles, Clayton Mathis, Shaken and Stirred featuring Carol Harris and Randy Mims!!! Rounds of bingo will be interlaced with the musicians with some very amazing prizes donated by area businesses. So come on out for a day of fun, that goes to a great cause! Doors open at 2pm, and music starts shortly thereafter and runs into the evening!!

So that’s a fun week, some new faces, and some house favorites return to the BS stage… in a word…community! Join us as we strive to continue to make Bowery Station…. your home for great live music in Apalachicola!

See you at the show!
