Wednesday, March 21 – BS Open Mic rolls from 6-8ish. This weekly event has been a mainstay in local entertainment for years, and has fostered the development of numerous performers as they gain their confidence and stage presence. All levels of talent are welcomed and appreciated. Get in early for a seat as the last few weeks have been packed houses!!! As always, tips for performers from BS Open Mic go to charity, and this week we will be raising money for the Franklin County Humane Society. So come on out and belt out a tune or two for a great cause and great fun.
Thursday, March 22 – This by all accounts will be a day to remembered, for so many reasons. First, Matt Gardi leads off with a set of tunes from 3-5pm. Gardi, known for his innate ability to dodge tomatoes without missing a beat, has a set list that ranges from Buffett to Guy Clark and throws in a few originals to boot. Then, just when you thought you had seen it all…Bowery Station presents: Sam and Dave featuring the Melody Lane Dance Company in “Nowhere to Nowhere!” A melodic opera composed, produced and directed by Dave Cerrato (AKA Davide D’Artist) Sam and Dave continue their never ending quest to create an ever more developing performance, this time by introducing the Melody Lane Dance Company featuring contortionist BendyKat! (https://www.facebook.com/bendykatflorida/) The show starts at 6pm, and is an off, off, off, really way off Broadway Musical that features the writings and lyrics of Dave, performed and accompanied by harpman Sam with dance performance choreographed by Melody Lane Dance Company. This will be a DO NOT MISS event for so many reasons…so so many.
Friday, March 23 – Sarah Moranville, a rising female artist on the Gulf Coast brings her smile and sultry voice to the stage from 3-5pm. Sarah has a set list that keeps everyone in tune with the show, and no one can deny her voice is captivating and dynamic and she is well deserved to be a featured artist in this year’s Chickfest 2018. Then, Ten Pound Pancake returns to Apalachicola for a jumpin’ night of the best soul, funk, R&B and Rock n’ roll from 7-10pm. It’s hard to sit down when Eric and the boys get rolling, with some of the most talented guitar licks, smooth vocals, and bass and percussion that can’t be beat. The perfect fit for a Friday night in Apalachicola!
Saturday, March 24 – Shawn Byrne returns to Bowery Station for an afternoon show from 3-5:30pm. Shawn, a talented songwriter as well as musician, puts on an original oriented show that ranges from eclectic country to rock and bluegrass. Then, we welcome the return of Johnny Barbato for a signature show from 6:30-9:30pm. Johnny mixes in slide, blues and an array of originals and covers that draw out the crowds. No one puts on a show like this Gulf Coast legend… intimate, yet energetic… somebody say “Awww Sh**!”
Sunday, March 25 – Boooooooooo! Boo Radley is coming into Apalach for another one of their signature performances from 5-8:00pm. Michael and Patty put their hearts into every show, with a primarily original show, and a sound that is unique to them. Flawless vocal harmonies, and rhythm and riffs by arguably one of the most talented individuals to hold a 6 string…now that’s what Sundays were built for!
Again, thanks to those of you that come on out and support what we do…and more importantly support the musicians that grace our stage. We can’t do it without folks like you that appreciate the level and variety of talent we strive to keep on the BS stage!
