Book Signing: Edge of the High

December 3, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

  • « Apalachicola Bay Chamber Holiday Fresh Market
  • Apalach Ghost Tour »
Join us this Saturday at Rio Carrabelle from 3-6 pm with Rodney & Robin Hilton for their book signing for “EDGE OF THE HIGH: QUARTER CENTURY OF SAILING AROUND THE WORLD”, a non-fiction book about their sailing adventures.
“Sailing west across the Atlantic from the Cape Verdes Islands, Africa, our journey of more than two decades is coming to an end. Experience the love we share for each other along with the love of the sea and our long time friend and home, “Sea Song”. Share in our salty rituals: the thrills of catching Dorados and preparing them for our meals; dashing over robust seas as we evade storms; long days and nights as we spell each other from shifts of three hours; listen in on radio scheds.; navigate as we find our position on the vast sea; hear about our concerns of the future.

Travel in the past as we do, reliving numerous adventures: dismasting in the Caribbean 200 miles from shore; shipwrecked on a coral reef off Vieques, Puerto Rico; spearfishing and being chased out of the water by sharks; living on deserted islands; being towed into Cuba in 1987… These are just a few of the memories we weave like a rogue yarn into the fiber of our 20+ day passage from the coast of Africa to the Caribbean Sea.”

Robin has written The Legacy of Gale Ann Ralston, a futuristic murder mystery, that was originally published in 2008 and is now republished and available on Amazon. And she had written articles for The Oyster, Forgotten Coastline, and the Franklin Chronicle, years ago. Rodney also enjoys writing and has written several unpublished fiction manuscripts.
