The Friends of Franklin County Public Libraries is hosting their annual Soup, Bread & Book Sale on Saturday, January 22, 2022 outside of the Eastpoint branch of the Franklin County Public Library, 160 Hickory Dip Rd. This popular sale features vintage and used books and DVDs, delicious homemade soups and freshly baked artisan breads. Books will go on sale starting at 10 am. Soups and breads will go on sale beginning at 11 am. The soups and breads sell out very fast so come early to get the best selection. As a bonus at this year’s sale, there will also be some yard sale items available. (In case of inclement weather, the sale will be moved indoors.)
Book, soup, and bread donations are gladly accepted. Book donations may be dropped off at either branch – Eastpoint or Carrabelle. Food donations are being coordinated via a sign-up sheet at the Eastpoint library or by calling (850) 670-8151.
While you are at the Eastpoint Library, be sure to check out the lovely new gazebo, part of the library beautification project sponsored by the Friends. The Mission of the Friends is to support the Franklin County Public Libraries’ goal to provide informational, educational and cultural materials for the benefit of persons of all ages in the community. Through fundraising the Friends support many library programs: Summer Reading, Music as Another Language, Read With Me Storytime (ages 1-6), STEAM 1 (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math—ages 8-12), STEAM 2 (ages 5-7), ANIME Club (grades 5-12), Teen Book Club (grades 6-12), Computer Classes (adults), and Lego Club.
