George E. Weems Memorial Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital that provides health care services to our Franklin County community and its visitors. The hospital has a dedicated Emergency Department that is open 24-hours per day to meet all of your family’s emergencies any time, day or night. Our staff is ready to assist you when you need it the most! Diagnostic services, such as x-rays, CT scans, and laboratory services, are in close proximity to the ER. This allows for direct access to critical diagnostic services in an emergency situation. Our affiliations with large tertiary care hospitals make transfer seamless when higher level medical services are required. A helipad on campus allows air-ambulances to rapidly transport patients in need of emergency transport when a ground ambulance just isn’t fast enough!
Weems Memorial also provides diagnostic screening services like mammography, endoscopy, and colonoscopy. On-site surgical pacemaker implantation and our swing-bed short term rehab program including physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy provide quality local solutions to avoid travel into Panama City or Tallahassee. Weems Medical Center East, in Carrabelle, provides urgent and primary care services. For added convenience, walk-in service is available.
At George E. Weems Memorial Hospital, our mission is to improve the health status of the residents and visitors to Franklin County, by providing quality, compassionate, cost effective, and convenient health care through community leadership, and in collaboration with other health care organizations which serve our communities.
