WILD & SCENIC FILM FESTIVAL - 2009

The Apalachicola Riverkeeper will host the Wild and Scenic Film Festival On Tour August 29-September 5th. Venues will include theaters across the Forgotten Coast- Dixie Theatre, Tupelo Theater, FSU Coastal & Marine Laboratory and others.Schedules, venues, and a listing of the films will be posted at our website in the coming months or call (850) 653-8936
National Estuaries Day

261 Seventh Street Apalachicola The Apalachicola Reserve invites you to celebrate National Estuaries Day from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, September 25th . Bring the family and join us for a fun and educational day. Activities will focus on the importance of our estuaries and the need to protect them. Events will include boat tours (children must be 8 or older), guided nature trail walks, children's activities including a cast netting game, wacky waterfront race, and arts and crafts. There will be touch tanks, live reptiles on display, door prizes for adults and more! Door prizes are from local vendors. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The event is FREE. Hurry in, free T-shirts will be given to the first 500 attendees!

Downtown Apalachicola The Historic Apalachicola Christmas celebration will light up Apalachicola from 4:00-8:00 p.m. the streets of downtown Apalachicola will be lined with luminaries and filled with holiday spirit. Merchants will be open late the sounds of carolers will echo through the streets filling the evening with Christmas spirit. Santa will arrive on a shrimp boat at 4:00 p.m. at the City dock on Water Street, across from City Hall. Santa will hear children's Christmas wishes and carolers will sing.
